Candidates may enrol in the master study program Food Science who have completed:
a) the level one university program Food Science and Nutrition or a comparable level one study program at faculties in Slovenia or abroad;
b) a level one university study program in other fields at faculties from Slovenia or abroad, if they additionally obtain 30 credit points from the group of subjects of the level one university study program Food Science and Nutrition; these obligations are determined in relation to the difference of the professional field and are decided for each student individually by the competent study commission; the candidate must complete these additional examinations prior to enrolment in the master study:
- graduates of comparable study programs in the field of life sciences (e.g. graduates of the Biotechnical Faculty) take subjects from the group of compulsory professional subjects: Analytical Methods in Food Science, Food Science Chemistry, Food Science Microbiology, Food Hygiene, Technology of Packing and Transport, Technological Processing Methodology, Technology of Processing Foodstuffs of Plant Origin, Technology of Processing Food of Animal Origin, Basic Biotechnology,
- graduates of study programs with a comparable extent of basic subjects (mathematical methods, chemistry, biology, physics, biochemistry) take subjects from the group of compulsory professional subjects: Analytical Methods in Food Science, Food Science Chemistry, Food Science Microbiology, Food Hygiene, Technology of Packing and Transport, Technological Processing Methodology, Technology of Processing Foodstuffs of Plant Origin, Technology of Processing Food of Animal Origin, Basic Biotechnology, and
- additional obligations are determined for graduates of all other fields of study that do not have a comparable extent of basic and professional subjects, from the group of compulsory basic and compulsory professional subjects;
c) a college professional study program in the field of food science and nutrition under previous or new programs at faculties in Slovenia or abroad;
d) a level one college professional study program or previous college professional study program in other fields, if they additionally obtain 10-60 credit points from the group of subjects of the level one university study program Food Science and Nutrition; these obligations are determined in relation to the difference of the professional field and are decided for each student individually by the competent study commission; the candidate must complete these additional examinations prior to enrolment in master studies:
- graduates of comparable study programs in the field of life sciences (e.g., graduates of the Biotechnical Faculty) take subjects from the group of compulsory professional subjects: (Analytical Methods in Food Science, Food Science Chemistry, Food Science Microbiology, Food Hygiene, Technology of Packing and Transport, Technological Processing Methodology, Technology of Processing Foodstuffs of Plant Origin, Technology of Processing Food of Animal Origin, Basics of Biotechnology) to the extent of 30 credit points,
- graduates of study programs with a comparable extent of basic subjects (mathematical methods, chemistry, biology, physics, biochemistry) take subjects from the group of compulsory professional subjects (Analytical Methods in Food Science, Food Science Chemistry, Food Science Microbiology, Food Hygiene, Technology of Packing and Transport, Technological Processing Methodology, Technology of Processing Foodstuffs of Plant Origin, Technology of Processing Food of Animal Origin, Basics of Biotechnology) to the extent of 40 credit points, and
- additional obligations are determined for graduates of all other fields of study that do not have a comparable extent of basic and professional subjects from the group of compulsory basic and compulsory professional subjects.
If a decision on limited enrolment is adopted:
- candidates referred to in points a) and b) will be selected on the basis of grades in exams passed, to wit candidates under point a) the average grade of level one study exams, and candidates under point b) the average grade of level one study exams and exams that are a condition for enrolment,
- candidates referred to in points c) and d) will be selected on the basis of grades in exams passed, to wit candidates under point c) the average grade of undergraduate study exams, and candidates under point b) the average grade of undergraduate study exams and exams that are a condition for enrolment.
