  • Purpose and use of living beings in biology classes:
    • keeping and caring for living beings in school environment
    • use of living beings in class
    • importance of using living creatures in forming correct conceptions, and changing misconceptions towards living creatures
    • forming positive attitude towards living beings
    • safety and ethical requirements in using living beings in class.
  • Misconceptions in biology:
    • recognising misconceptions
    • forming correct conceptions, and dealing with prejudices.
  • Conceptual approach in teaching biology:
    • biological concepts and connections among them

gradual development of holistic understanding of biology in pupils.
