Research Fields
The research focuses on plant mineral nutrition, food quality and safety, and plant adaptation to environmental stress. Particular emphasis is placed on advanced imaging and spectroscopic techniques for studying the distribution of elements and biomolecules within plant tissues. The work investigates hyperaccumulator plants, their mechanisms of metal uptake and detoxification, and evolutionary adaptations to contaminated environments. An important aspect of the research is the study of plant-fungal symbioses and their role in metal tolerance. The findings contribute to the development of sustainable phytoremediation strategies and enhanced food security.
