The Department of Food Science and Technology
The Department of Food Science and Technology combines teaching, research and applied work, thus nurturing basic and applied knowledge in the field of food sciences and nutrition.
The basic activity of the Department is the implementation of academic (undergraduate) and master (postgraduate) study programmes in food and nutrition, and the transfer of scientific research achievements into practice.
The study of food science and technology is building on the understanding and acquisition of knowledge in the field of production, processing, quality and marketing of food, which continues into the understanding and knowledge of human nutrition. A safe and adequate diet is important part of maintaining good health, and requires a comprehensive knowledge of food and the processes employed to produce, process and reformulate it.
