Work Experience

Tanja Šumrada is a Research Associate and Assistant Professor at the UL, Biotechnical Faculty, where she has been part of the Chair for Agrarian Economics, Policy and Law since 2017. She specialises in the socio-economic aspects of biodiversity conservation in the agri-food systems and the related EU policies.

Research work:
- farmers', consumers', stakeholders' and public preferences, decision-making and behaviour in the context of biodiversity conservation and sustainable food systems,
- experimental, impact and policy evaluations of agricultural, conservation and knowledge transfer policies,
- economics and sustainable development of agricultural systems in the High Nature Value farmland,
- analyses of agricultural land use impacts on farmland biodiversity.

Teaching:
- Fundamentals of nature conservation in agriculture (BASc)
- Economics of multifunctional agriculture (practicals) (BSc)
- Nature conservation policies in agriculture (MSc)
- Principles of research and project work (practicals) (BSc)
