Invitation to a free professional excursion for teachers

Get to know the pedagogical programmes of the DINA Centre and the Pivka Lakes Ecomuseum!


The Pivka Tourism Institute and the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana invite teachers of primary and secondary schools, especially those who include natural science, environmental education and sustainability in their teaching programme, to a professional excursion within the framework of the project “UL for a Sustainable Society - ULTRA”.The excursion is part of the project “UL for a Sustainable Society - ULTRA”.

The excursion will take place on Wednesday 27 August 2025 at the DINA Centre on Large Carnivores in Pivka.

Participants will learn about the possibilities for implementing natural science and sustainability programmes through guided activities, with a focus on learning about large carnivores and coexistence.

The programme will include a guided tour of the DINA Centre, a Walk with a Hunter and a visit to the Pivka Intermittent Lakes Ecomuseum. The number of places is limited to approximately 50 persons. Participation in the excursion with refreshments is free of charge. The participant only has to cover the transport costs.

 

Planned programme:

9:00 - 9:30 arrival (coffee and snacks)

9:30 - 11:15 Guided tour of the DINA Centre and presentation of the educational programmes

11:15 - 12:30 Walk with the Hunter (pedagogical programme)

12:30 - 14:00 Refreshments

14:00 - 15:30 Guided tour of the Pivka Intermittent Lakes Ecomuseum

15:30 Departure

The excursion is designed to present opportunities for school visits and to implement educational programmes focusing on coexistence with large carnivores and the natural heritage of the Pivka World.
