Arena of Technologies is coming to Križanke!

The UL BF Department of Microbiology will also be present.

Arena of Technologies is the technology event of the year, brimming with innovation, energy and stories of the future. Visitors will be able to step into the world of Slovenian science, technology and creativity and take part in a wide range of interactive experiences - from playing chess with artificial intelligence, creating music with AI, trying out VR goggles, to learning about anti-earthquake solutions, 3D printing, robotic challenges, medical devices, modern electric vehicles, to microscopy, pipetting and soldering.

The Department of Microbiology of UL BF will also be participating in the event with a varied and research-oriented stand.

Dr. Marko Verce will introduce visitors to the world of water kefir:
compare kefir and kombucha grains, learn about microbial communities with a magnifying glass and a microscope,observe yeasts and bacteria in water kefir,investigate the appearance, smell and changes of kefir over time.

Dr. Maša Vodovnik is preparing a real microbiological adventure: On the micro wheel of fortune, visitors will learn about the microbes that have an important impact on our lives,see microscope slides and fungal cultures,compete in a tip stacking competition and pipette coloured water,take part in quizzes for prizes,find out what it is like to work as a microbiologist in the laboratory.The BF microbiologists' booth will give visitors of all ages the opportunity to not only learn about the microscopic world, but also to experience it.
The Arena of Technologies 2025 is intended for all those who want to get up close and personal with the technological future and the wealth of knowledge of Slovenian researchers. Entrance is free!
