The 6th KAEPP seminar, titled “Ecosystem Services – Challenges of Valuation and Implications for Decision-Making,” will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The seminar will be held in a hybrid format, both in the auditorium of the Department of Animal Science and via this link.
Ecosystem services represent the benefits that society derives from natural ecosystems, ranging from the provision of food and raw materials to regulatory and cultural functions. Identifying and valuing them is becoming increasingly important in shaping agricultural, environmental, and development policies and in supporting sustainable decision-making.
At the seminar, Dr. Mateja Šmid Hribar, Dr. Daniela Ribeiro, and Dr. Ilona Rac will present key challenges and approaches in assessing ecosystem services and how such analyses can contribute to more informed and holistic decision-making.
