Erasmus BIP Summer School 2026: Circular Bioeconomy and Sustainable Resource Management
The UL BF at the University of Ljubljana, in collaboration with international partners, invites students to participate in the Erasmus BIP Summer School 2026: Circular Bioeconomy and Sustainable Resource Management, which will take place in two parts—first online, followed by a one-week field program in Istria.

An international and interdisciplinary experienceThe summer school offers an interdisciplinary insight into:
the circular and regenerative bioeconomy,sustainable resource management,valorization of agricultural, industrial, and municipal waste,bioenergy technologies,sustainable agricultural solutionsThe program combines an online introductory component with field visits and project work, and participants receive 3 ECTS credits upon successful completion of the program.
Program Structure 1.
Online Introductory Session April 27–30, 2026
The online program includes lectures and interactive discussions on:
the fundamentals of the circular and regenerative bioeconomy bioenergy conversion technologies the circular use of agricultural biomass biochar for soil improvement and carbon sequestration microbial inoculants and biostimulants for sustainable production
2. Field component and project work
May 4–8, 2026, Istria
Participants will visit:
olive oil, wine, and cheese producers nature conservation areas a waste management center the cement industry with CO₂ valorization solutions
The program also includes work in international groups and the preparation of a final report.

Who can apply?
The program is intended for undergraduate and master’s students in the fields of:
sustainable bioeconomy development,agriculture,environment,engineering,and circular economy resource management.The working language of the program is English.

Erasmus BIP Financial SupportSelected participants will be able to apply for Erasmus BIP grants, which help cover participation costs and make the program more accessible.
