Invitation to Lecture: Preparing a Data Management Plan (DMP) for ARIS Projects

Lecturer: Dr. Tina Zorman, Data Steward (Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana)

Who is the lecture for? The lecture is intended for researchers, particularly those preparing or implementing projects that require a Data Management Plan (DMP). Doctoral students and other interested participants are also welcome.

Content: This presentation will cover the importance and practical aspects of preparing Data Management Plans (DMPs), which are increasingly required by research funders, including the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS). A DMP is a key part of the research process, ensuring transparent and well-planned data management, long-term preservation, and accessibility in accordance with the FAIR principles.

This is the same presentation previously delivered in Slovenian on 3 March, now offered in English in response to the interest of international researchers and doctoral students.

It will provide a step-by-step overview of the ARIS DMP template, focusing on understanding the requirements and correctly completing each section. The procedure for submitting research data to the Repository of the University of Ljubljana will also be presented, along with the requirements for preparing data for publication, including the preparation of a readme file and its importance for the comprehensibility and reuse of research data.
