Content (Syllabus outline)

Cell biology: Cells as basic units of life. Methods in cell biology. Structure and function of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells (unicellular and multicellular organsims); cell membranes and transport; intracellular compartments; energy metabolism; cytoskeleton; cell cycles and cell signalling; structure and function of tissues;

Structure and diversity of animals: Morphology and physiology of different organ systems in animals with emphasis on model organisms; reproduction and development; interactions between animals and their environment; environmental changes and ecosystem;

Structure and diversity of plants:

Morphological and physiological characteristics of basic functional plant systems; basic principles of plant growth and development, with emphasis on nutritional and biotechnological applicability.

Prerequisites

Requirements for enrolment:

Inscription to adequate academic year.

 

Terms of Prerequisites:

Prerequisite for exam and practical examination is minimal 80 % presence at practical course.
