Introduction to physic of atmosphere. Meteorological measurements and observations. Atmosphere, air composition, air and soil temperature. Verical  gradients in boundary layer and in biosphere..

Basic gas laws. Hydrostatics. Air pressure Water cycle. Air humidity: parameters and measurements. Clouds and fog. Precipitation,  types, amounts. Water balance in Slovenia.

Thermodynamics. Energy and mass transfer in the atmosphere. Sun and terrestrial radiation. Conductive heat transfer in the soil. Turbulence. Static stability of the atmosphere. Energy balance of the Earth.

Electrical phenomena and optics of the atmosphere.

Weather forecasts. Air masses, fronts, cyclones, anticyclones. Secondary cyclones. General and local winds. Short-term and seasonal weather forcasts. Weather types. General atmosphere circulation.

Climate. Climate classification. Climate variability and climate change.

Forest micrometeorology. Wind breaks, wind profile. Radiation in forest canopy. Vegetation optical properties. Plant stand architecture. Leaf density and leaf area index. Forest precipitation.

Prerequisites
