Intermolecular bonds: states of matter, phase diagrams,  H-bonds, gas laws.

Solutions: concentration, solubility, coligative properties

Acids and bases: dissociation of water, strong and weak acids and bases, buffers.

Electrochemistry: Oxidation reduction reactions, standard electrode potential

Interaction of electromagnetic radiation and matter: Beer Lambert law

Simple organic molecules: structure, properties, functional  groups, reactivity, isomery, application

Reactivity of organic compounds: additions, substitutions, condensations, redox reactions, polymerizations.

Carbohydrates: structure, properties, reactivity, functions in organism.

Amino acids and proteins: structural organization, properties, reactivity, functions in organism.

Enzymes: structure, catalysis, classification, regulation of activity.

Lipids: structure, properties, function in organism, membranes.

Nucleotides and nucleic acids: structure, function in organism.

Gene expression: DNA replication, transcription, translation, protein biosynthesis

Metabolism-introduction: catabolism, anabolism, free enthalpy, digestion.

Metabolism of carbohydrates: glycolysis, fermentation, gluconeogenesis

Synthesis of acetyl-coenzyme A and citrate cycle

Prerequisites

Conditions for inclusion in the work:

Enrolment in the appropriate academic year.

 

Conditions for performing study obligations

Prerequisite for permission to attend the final exam is passing written preliminary  examination.
