Content (Syllabus outline)

World and national economic importance of plant protection. Main groups of harmful organisms with special emphasis on the pests and diseases agents of field and fodder crops. Appearance of injuries on the plants caused by attack of insects (Insecta), mites (Acarina), nematodes (Nematoda), slugs and snails (Gastropoda), mammals (Mammalia), birds (Aves). Phytopathogenic fungi (Fungi) and fungus-like organisms (Chromista, Protozoa), bacteria, viruses, phytoplasmas – main characteristics and characteristic symptoms. Some examples of physiological disorders and diseases. Basic elements of pests, diseases and weeds protection. Chemical, mechanical, integrated and biological control. Pesticides by modes of action, tolerance, harvest waiting period, selectivity, resistance of harmful organisms to pesticides, toxicology and ecotoxicology of pesticides.

-enrolment in the corresponding year of study programme

- written examination from tutorial:

-participation at tutorial (75 %)

- preparation of seminar

Condition for performing study obligations  - written exam:

- student passes the examination from tutorial
