Mechanisms of behaviour: perception of environmental stimuli, analysis in central nervous system, reaction of animal.

Physiological basis of behaviour.

Animal welfare, definitions of animal welfare, the significance of animal welfare for production,  species specific behaviour, abnormal behaviour as deviation from normal behaviour in qualitative and quantitative sense, the reasons for abnormal behaviour in intensive housing systems.

Feeding and drinking, defecation and urination, comfort behaviour, thermoregulation behaviour,  locomotion, exploration, rest and sleep, social behaviour, reproductive behaviour, play, practise and exercise, expressive behaviour, egg laying, hunting behaviour at dog and cat.

Animal handling, animal observation methods.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for the inclusion in the work:

Enrolment in corresponding year of study programme.

 

Prerequisites for performing study obligations:

  • for the accession to the colloquium

- min 70% presence on the lectures

- min 80% presence on the exercises

- 100% presence on the practice in barns

 

  • for the accession to the examination

- passed colloquium
