WORKING RANGE OF TECHNICAL DEVICES AND PLANNING OF SKIDDING ROAD NETWORK: types of technical devices and its morphology. Technological requirements of using technical devices. Interaction felling – skidding and skidding – road transport. Technological systems and types of secondary transport network. Skid trails – characteristics of different systems, felling directions, line of tower yarders, basics of tower yard design. Secondary transport network in combined technological variants. Optimal density of secondary transport network. Technologies and work conditions. Work range and effect of technical devices.

FOREST ROAD NETWORK PLANNING: Principles of forest opening up with forest roads. Planning and designing of forest roads. Influential factors on construction elements of forest roads. Process of forest road designing. Practical design of forest roads using modern tools (GPS, ortophoto) and classical methods. Practical laying out of forest roads.

WORK CONDITIONS IN CONNECTION TO FOREST OPERATION TECHNOLOGIES: GIS application in decision support system in planning forest operation, technological maps, the application of information technology in forest operation planning processes, connection the information systems in forest based industry.

Prerequisites
