Content (Syllabus outline)

Short content.

- Overview of statistical fields with all the emphasis on possibilities of usage in forestry

- Preparation of complex data for exacting statistical analyses

- Time series analysis in forestry

- Introduction to multivariate analysis (multiple and nonlinear regression, analysis of covariance, classification, principal component analysis and discriminant analysis)

- Design of experiments in forestry (general terms, blocks, latin squares, split-plot designs, nested design)

- Repeated measures ANOVA

- Data types in forestry and their analytic characteristics (limitations etc.)

The possibilities of data transforming and the choice of the methods. Specialties of forestry data interpretation

Prerequisites

1. Condition for inclusion in the work:

- Inscription to adequate academic year  

- Completed exams in Methods of Research Work in Forestry I.

 

2. Condition for performing study obligations: 

- Colloquium (condition)

- Individual seminar work (condition).
