Content (Syllabus outline)

Structure and function of the nervous system. Endocrine and hormonal regulation, chemistry and effect of hormones. Sensory system. Muscle and motor system. Heart; structure, pacemaker, the initiation and spread of excitation in the heart, electrocardiogram. Pumping function of the heart, frequency, the heart minute volume (cardiac output), blood pressure. Control of cardiac function. Blood; composition, blood plasma and blood cells, immune functions and haemostasis. Hemoglobin and transfer of respiratory gases. Respiration, gas exchange and regulation of breathing. Food and digestion, water and electrolytes. Toxic substances in food. Structure of digestive system. Kidney structure and function, regulation of the water and electrolytes. Human reproduction. Principles of regulation. Response and adaptation of the organism to environmental conditions. Thermoregulation. Thermal adaptation and acclimatization. Work and sports. Fatigue and recovery. Response to acute and chronic hypoxia. Organism in hyperbaric environment. Diving.

Prerequisites for inclusion in the work:
