Content (Syllabus outline)

• Molecular genetics of eukaryotes.

Chromosome and genome organization and molecular structure. 

•  Molecular properties of genes.

Gene structure and function. Gene expression and its regulation. Tissue specific expression of genes. The source of genetic variations - Recombination and transposition. DNA damage. DNA and non-DNA repair. Properties and classification of mutations.

•   Patterns of inheritance.

From genotype to phenotype. Reproduction and chromosome transmission.  Inheritance of individual genes. Interallelic and intergenic interactions. Non-Mendelian  inheritance. 

•  Genetic analyses  and genetic technologies .

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for inclusion in the work:

• inscription  to adequate academic year

• knowledge of: genetics,  biochemistry  / molecular biology
