Content (Syllabus outline)

Nerve cell: electric potentials an signals, voltage-dependent membrane permeabiltiy, ion channels and transporters, synaptic transmission, neurotransmitters and tehir receptros, intracellular signalling in neurons, synaptic plasticity.

Senses and sensory processing: touch and proprioception, pain, vision, hearing, vestibular system, chemical senses.

Movement and its central control: motor neurons and lower motoric circuits, higher motoric control, basal ganglia, cerebellum, sensory-motor integration, visceral motor system.

Brain plasticity: early development, construction of neural circuits, modification of neural circuits as a result of experience, repair and regeneration of the nervous system.

Complex brain functions: associative cortex and cognition, speech and language, sleep and wakefullness, emotions, sexuality and brain, memory.

Prerequisites for inclusion in the work:
