What does the forest hide that we cannot see only with our eyes?

The documentary video Forest Analysts, produced by the Department of Forestry and Renewable Forest Resources at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, takes viewers on a journey into modern forestry, where field work is combined with digital technologies, 3D models, and data that shed new light on the structure and functioning of forests.

Researcher Dr. Vasilije Trifković demonstrates the use of laser scanning, GNSS technology, and the MOTI mobile application in the field and in the laboratory to accurately monitor the condition and changes in forests. Digital tools enable better forest management planning, response to climate change, and long-term protection of one of Slovenia's greatest natural resources.

The video also highlights the importance of international cooperation, including with the University of Bern and research partners in Japan, and invites us to think about how science can help shape the future of our forests with data and understanding.

We invite you to watch the documentary video and see the forest through digital eyes.
