The Bioscience Slam is a public speaking competition featuring short, compelling presentations of doctoral research projects, with the audience voting for the best presentation.
The contestants were young doctoral students: Ana Pšeničnik, a research assistant in the Department of Biology; Katja Knez, a young researcher in Animal Science; and Zala Uhan, a research assistant in the Department of Forestry and Renewable Forest Resources.
All three brave contestants performed excellently. Following their interesting, humorous, and insightful 3- to 5-minute presentations, the audience voted using a QR code displayed on the screen. The outcome was close until the very end, when Zala Uhan defeated her competitor by two votes.
