ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
The Ethics Committee of the Biotechnical Faculty is a working body of the Senate of the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty, dedicated to strengthening academic ethics, integrity, and excellence in the faculty’s research, teaching, and professional activities. The Committee operates impartially and confidentially, in accordance with the principles of academic honesty and respect for human dignity.
The mission of the Committee is to promote ethical conduct, raise awareness among members of the academic community, and develop recommendations and guidelines that contribute to a responsible academic environment.
The Committee’s vision is to foster an open, inclusive, and ethically responsible academic community based on trust, integrity, quality, and mutual respect.
The Committee is composed of representatives of academic staff, researchers, professional services, and students.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES
The Ethics Committee addresses issues and cases relating to breaches of ethical principles, academic integrity, and unethical conduct within the academic community of the Biotechnical Faculty.
Its responsibilities include:
• assessing compliance of conduct with the Code of Ethics and other ethical standards,
• reviewing reports and requests concerning the ethical assessment of conduct,
• preparing opinions, recommendations, and guidelines,
• raising awareness of the importance of ethical conduct,
• proposing measures to strengthen academic integrity and the quality of academic work.
The Committee considers cases such as plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of research results, unethical authorship practices, conflicts of interest, inappropriate relationships within the academic community, and other forms of unacceptable conduct.
All procedures are conducted confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with the Committee’s Rules of Procedure.
