Content (Syllabus outline)
Repetition of knowledge about the structure and chemical composition and molecular structure of wood pulp (chemical structure of cellulose, cellulose conformation, intremolecular hydrogen bonding and the supramolecular structure of cellulose).
Basic concepts, definitions and logic;
Crystallinity of cellulose nanofibrils
Extraction of micro-and nanofibrilated cellulose from woody fibers on the mechanical and chemical means; monitoring reaction, influence of selected parameters on the reaction, characterization of the resulting product with FT-IR spectroscopy.
Nanoceluloze drying process, the different methods of drying, problem of hornification and redispersion.
The possibility of using cellulose nanofibrils acquired form woody fibers.
