Content (Syllabus outline)

Lectures:
- diversity of insect and geographical distribution of the diversity
- phylogenetic relationships within the insect and their phylogenetic position
- developmental biology of insects
- insects in the interspecific relationships
- insect defense mechanisms
- insects in the water (representation, adaptation, ecological importance)
- social insects
- insect interactions with humans
- systematics of selected insect orders (taxonomy, distribution, representation in Slovenia)
Project:
It includes in particular a review of primary literature and summary of the most interesting themes either on insect systematics or other fields of insect biology, related to the lectures.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for inclusion in the work:

· enrolment in the appropriate academic year
