Content (Syllabus outline)

Physiological processes on the level of cells, tissues organs and organisms. Cell division and regulation of cell cycle. Plant meristems, their importance for root and shoot development and plant biotechnology. Plant cell differentiation and its control. Basic morphogenetic factors and the importance of gene expression in morphogenesis. Plant hormones and growth regulators for plant growth, development and morphogenesis. Plant receptors and the importance of environmental factors for morphogenesis (light, temperature). Rhytms and periodism, biological clocks, induction of flowering. Senescence and abscission as genetically regulated processes. Plant signalling. Aplications in plant biotechnology.

Prerequisites

Requirements for enrolment:

Admission into 2nd  year of MSc biotechnology.

All course obligations need to be passed to enter the exam.
