Chair of Landscape Science and Geoinformatics

Within the Department of Landscape Science and Geoinformatics, we deal with the fields of landscape ecology, nature conservation, protected area management, torrential and forest engineering, hydrology and forest inventories. Important tools that we use for analysis, evaluation of existing theories and creation of new findings are geographic information systems (GIS) and spatially explicit models and related analyses.

The staff of the Chair of Landscape Science and Geoinformatics department are involved in the pedagogical process with basic, compulsory and elective courses in all three study programmes offered at the Department of Forestry and Renewable Forest Resources:

  • Forest inventories and remote data acquisition (1st year higher education professional studies, mandatory)
  • Landscape ecology in forestry (1st year higher education professional studies, mandatory)
  • Introduction to nature protection (1st year higher education professional studies, mandatory)
