Področja raziskovalnega dela
Raziskovalno delo je usmerjeno v proučevanje mineralne prehrane rastlin, kakovosti in varnosti hrane ter prilagoditev rastlin na okoljski stres. Poseben poudarek je na uporabi naprednih slikovnih in spektroskopskih metod za analizo porazdelitve elementov in biomolekul v rastlinskih tkivih. Raziskave vključujejo preučevanje hiperakumulacijskih rastlin, njihovih mehanizmov privzema in razstrupljanja kovin ter evolucijskih prilagoditev na onesnažena okolja. Pomemben del raziskav je namenjen tudi rastlinsko-glivnim simbiozam in njihovi vlogi pri toleranci na kovine. Pridobljena spoznanja prispevajo k razvoju trajnostne fitoremediacije in izboljšanju prehranske varnosti.
